I have not posted in a while. It has been almost 2 weeks. Many things have happened. My first few weeks here in the Stift have been ones of change and adjustment. I have now settled into my new routine.
At First Vespers on the Feast of St Augustine, I officially entered Stift Klosterneuburg as a Novice. I was clothed in the habit of the Canons Regular of St Augustine and given a new name.

Along with my new Clothes and new Name, I also have a new job. Here are some pictures of my first day at work.

We have now filled all of our Choir Stalls. Here is a view from the stalls, towards the high altar.

On the Feast of St Augustine, new Novices are admitted and vows are taken. This year there were 5 new Novices (yours truly, included). Two members completed their novice year and took simple vows. One member extended his simple vows for three more years. Dom Albert made his final vows this year, as well.

I have over 300 photos to go through of the events. I will be working on them this upcoming week.

And finally a picture of me with the Provost.

P.S. I love your new name. I read a bit about St. Kilian and it seems a good choice for you.

Your descriptions of your new office space are most witty! Keep up the good work — only 363 days until simple vows.

So, Dom Kilian. Very interesting! This is all wonderful and beautiful. You do seem to be happy and integrating quite well. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other. You were a teenager and I was a much younger man. So this is all news to me since we haven’t been keeping in touch for many years. Congratulations on your new position and may God bless you in your new endeavor. It seems to make both you and your family very happy for sure. I hope you truly are happy.
