This is a quick update to let everyone know what the future holds for LifeAroundTheCollar. I look forward to being able to communicate with all of you through this blog. I hope that it will be informative and entertaining. I have provided some general outlines of upcoming changes and events.
If you have any specific requests, please make them. I am looking for an idea of what people would like to read. So, if you have any ideas of topics or semi-regular “Features” you wold like, please send them in.
Blog features:
- Galleries: I will be adding photo galleries. These will replace the current facebook gallery that is on this blog.
- Menus: I will be adding menus to aid in navigation of the blog
- Podcasts: I will most likely add audio podcasts. I am not sure what focus these will take. But, more than likely they will quick updates on what I am doing.
- Video: I do not really have any plans to add video. But, I will make sure that the capabilities for this are built into my theme.
- Contact forms: I am thinking of adding contact forms. But, I am not sure about the usefulness of them.
- Comments: Comments on the blog are currently moderated. This means that I review them before they are publicly visible. I am not sure if I will be changing this. I like the fact that anyone can contact me through any post, regardless if it is a private message or not
- Postings by e-mail: I am thinking of adding a way for you to recieve new posts by e-mail. This would be the entire post as a pdf file. I have tried this in the past with mixed success.
How my blogging will work when I am in Klosterneuburg:
I will not have internet access in my room. I will compose posts offline and upload them when I am able to. Please do not expect instant responses. I will most likely be checking my e-mail once a day, please keep that in mind.
The topics covered on this blog will be general and from my viewpoint. I will not be blogging about the following things: Church politics in Austria, the state of the Austrian Church, negative stories about the Austrian Church, negative stories about the Leadership of the Austrian Church, etc. I hope you can see that I am not going to use this as a medium to attack the church or my superiors. I will also not post comments that break these rules. If you send them to me, that is fine. I just want to keep this blog about my experiences.

Michael,
Congratulations on you personal, spiritual and physical journey you are beginning.
I remember you talking about the priesthood when we were young, and thinking about how interesting it all sounded, but knowing that that was not the path for me.
I hope we will be able to get together before you depart, but if not, go with my blessings, and with the blessings from my parents, who I told all about your plan and they were excited for you.
